CoralPlugs: Coral Restoration in Pilau

Collaborative project with the School of Marine Science, Newcastle University, titled “Improve scalability of coral reef rehabilitation by improving methods for out planting sexually propagated corals” – (2020/21)

The project aims to propose a method that reduces the early mortality of corals from fish grazing and minimizes the labor and cost of outplanting that can be used in any habitat with a range of species. I was involved in designing and prototyping the substrates upon which the coral larvae grow, using digital fabrication.
